I have just become a Little Penguin warden at Manly. Tonight is my first evening and I am very excited to see these beautiful little birds. I have already started drawing them.
I have some images in an exhibition in Avalon. They are all of birds, seagulls mostly. I love seagulls in all their audaciousness and their glorious red legs. I painted the skies before the skies were grey.
It was open studio last weekend and there were predominantly birds - paintings, etchings and lithographs. I have started to paint on plywood and an loving the warm tones and that I am using bits of wood from under the house, so it has some history. More images to follow
This past week I have seen the most extraordinary skies. These are the elements that I paint in my landscapes.
The cockatoos were eating the seeds from the Norfolk Pine, and amongst them all, this one was was eating with his right hand. Cockatoos are normally left handed.
